Accountability Checklist for Work or Relationships

Accountability Checklist for Work or Relationships

Accountability Checklist for Work or Relationships is something you can refer to periodically if you find yourself doubting whether you are stepping up and being your best, most enlightened, and honest self. People are lazy. Doing the emotional work is as exhausting as doing your work work. Sometimes it is easier to cut corners. This is more apparent when it comes to work work, because there are often bottom lines, deliverables, and higher ups to enforce standards and hold us accountable, but holding yourself accountable in all areas of life is more than just not being reprimanded by a partner or superior.

Here are some prompts you can use to run an inventory on whether you are really being the best you. Are you holding yourself accountable? Are you feeling your feelings? Are you projecting? Let’s get to work.

True or False Accountability in Relationships

I speak honestly

I own my feelings

I am responsible for my own happiness

I do not blame my partner

I do not blame past events for present or recent past actions

I am actively working on releasing trauma

I know when I am triggered

I seek emotional safety in healthy ways

True or False Accountability in Work

I took my time in completing tasks

I am proud of the work I did this week

I would not do anything differently in the feedback period

I am honest in my communication of problems in the office

I contributed fairly in my team projects

I always try to help others, but not overstep

So after running this checklist, the first thing to do is congratulate yourself. Not easy to recount moments where you might not have been acting in your own best interest and those of colleagues and loved ones.
